The Maryland Society, Sons of the American Revolution (MDSSAR) has a very rich leadership history. We now recognize that leadership with the Maryland Lifetime Service Award. Qualification takes a lifetime of service and leadership.
The Maryland Society, Sons of the American Revolution Lifetime Service Award created in 2022 recognizes the total sum of a Compatriot's contributions to the Maryland Society and its Chapters throughout twenty-five years or more of leadership in the Society as an officer or committee chairman.
This is not a membership award but is for members that have taken an active role in leading our Society. This leadership also includes leadership at the national level as an officer or national committee chairman representing the Old Line State. This award is akin to a state level 'Minuteman Award' and is now the highest award presented to a Maryland Compatriot for active and distinguished service rendered to the State Society.
